Program Itinerary of The 3 Days Desert Tour From Fes To Marrakech:
Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Middle Atlas - ZiZ Valley - Merzouga [500 km]
We will pick you up at your hotel/riad to start our Fes to Marrakech desert tour and drive towards the captivating Moroccan desert. Our first stop will be in Ifrane, often called the “Moroccan Little Switzerland”.
We Continue our trip, to the largest cedar forests in Morocco, where we can walk through the beautiful woods to see the Barbarian macaques, a unique primate species native to the region. Then, we traverse the Middle Atlas Mountains through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass to Midelt as we admire the panoramic views of the region.
After lunch, we will continue our journey to the incredible Ziz Valley, full of palm trees and a picturesque panorama. In the afternoon, we will reach the Merzouga Desert, and take our camels on the most inspiring camel ride through the largest dunes in Morocco. On the way to our Desert Camp, we will stop to watch a breathtaking Sunset from a high dune, and enjoy sandboarding. Then, we will continue riding Camels to our camp, after dinner, we will gather around the fire and experience the rhythmic drumming under the starry night sky of the desert.
Day 2: Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley [275 km]
Today, an early morning is highly recommended to watch an amazing Sunrise over the sea of dunes. After a delicious breakfast at your camp, you can choose your preferred return mode to Merzouga village: a camel trek or a comfortable 4WD car.
Then we leave the Sahara desert towards Tineghir ”the city of the mountain” passing through Rissani and Erfoud. Suppose your visit coincides with the days: Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, you will get the chance to visit the traditional market in Rissani, providing into the vibrant local culture of southern Morocco.
After lunch in Tinejdad, we will cross the Berber villages to get to the stunning gorges of Todgha, where we will delight in the contrast of their palm trees and the peculiar color of their houses, and the rock walls of more than 200m, we will drive to the Dades Valley which offers breathtaking views of the remarkable rock famously known as the ‘Monkey Fingers’. Dinner and overnight at the comfort of a charming Riad in the heart of the Dades Valley.
Day 3: Dades Valley - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - High Atlas - Marrakech [353 km]
On the last day of our 3 days Fes to Marrakech desert tour, we will leave the beautiful Dades Valley after breakfast and start heading towards Ouarzazate via Kalaat Mgouna “The Valley of Roses” and Skoura to get the option to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and explore the Atlas Studio (Option), where various film sets and decorations from numerous movies are preserved.
After about 25km of the road from Ouarzazate, we will see the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, a massive Kasbah and a rugged landscape that has been used in many feature films like ”Lawrence of Arabia”, ”The Mummy”, ”Game of Thrones”, ”Gladiator”.
We will follow the road through the majestic High Atlas Mountains and Tizi N-Tichka pass, which stands at 2,260 meters above sea level. We will stop to enjoy the impressive views that will lead us to the ”Red City” Marrakech, expected in the late afternoon.
