Program Itinerary of The 4 Days Desert Tour From MARRAKECH TO merzouga desert:
Day 1: Marrakech - High Atlas Mountains - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Valley [353 km]
We will pick you up from your accommodation to start your 4 days desert tour from Marrakech, we will drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains via Tizi-N-Tichka pass and see beautiful Berber villages suspended on the flanks of the mountains.
Then we proceed to Dades Valley via Ouarzazate to visit the ancient Kasbah of Taourirt and the well-known film studios. Following a delightful lunch, our journey proceeds towards the fascinating town of Skoura, enjoying your drive along the famous One Thousand Kasbahs Road, and to Kelaat M’gouna, renowned for its roses products.
As we arrive at Dades Gorge, we will get ready to enjoy the stunning rock formations often referred to as ”Monkey fingers”, and make your way to your accommodation in the Dades Gorges area, enjoy dinner, and settle in for the night.
Day 2: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Erfoud - Merzouga [275 km]
Departure in the morning after a delicious breakfast towards Merzouga dunes, and take a scenic drive along the Dades and Todra Rivers. Cross the Tinghir Oasis which is surrounded by palm groves and small villages. Your destination is Todra Gorge, in this gorgeous place, there is one of the most amazing canyons in the world! The peaks rise to 320 m, which meanders its source in the High Atlas Mountains.
After having a tasty lunch, you will head to the Merzouga desert through Tinejdad and Erfoud with their palm groves.
The 4 days Marrakech desert tour to Merzouga will continue to the Erg Chebbi dunes, where you will experience the camel ride, try sandboarding, and watch a lovely Sunset over the highest dune of Merzouga. Then, spend a magical night in a luxury desert camp under a starry sky after a traditional dinner a music party (Berber drums) with friendly guys.
Day 3: Merzouga - Rissani - Daraa Valley - Ouarzazate: [360 km]
Today, we highly recommend you wake early to watch the impressive Sunrise. Once you have had a delightful breakfast in the camp, we will continue our 4 days Marrakech desert tour to Merzouga, you have 2 options for your back to the town of Merzouga a camel trekking again or a 4WD vehicle ride.
Depart towards the town of Rissani, where the Alaouite Dynasty originated, and an important stop along old caravan routes, we will have the opportunity to visit the traditional Moroccan souk, known for its traditional crafts, spices, and unique products.
From Rissani, our journey continues to the village of Alnif, where we will take the road that crosses the Jbel Saghro Anti-Atlas chain, then to the main Berber village of Tazzarine, N’kob and drive through the picturesque Draa Valley in Agdez. The road leads us to Ouarzazate, where we will spend the night at a Riad.
Day 4: Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Atlass Mountains - Marrakech: [190 km]
We leave Ouarzazate in the morning, towards the captivating Ait Ben Haddou, a site that has earned UNESCO’s protection since 1987 and the most impressive Kasbah in Morocco.
The site has been the location of numerous iconic films and TV series, including ”The Mummy”, ”Gladiator”, ”7 Days in Tibet”, ”Babel”, and ”Game of Thrones, adding to its allure. Leave Ait Ben Haddou and head towards the High Atlas Mountains, along the way, we will have th pleasure of pausing to admire the views over valleys, mountains, and many other Berber villages nearby.
