Tour Itinerary: 2-Day Tour Marrakech To Merzouga
Day 1: Marrakech, High Atlas Mountains - Merzouga Desert ( 560 KM)
Your Marrakech desert tours 2 days will start from your hotel/Riad in Marrakech. Your driver will pick you up early in the morning and depart to the High Atlas mountains, driving through Tizi N’Tichka with stops for panoramic views and taking pictures of the small Berber villages and their beautiful landscapes.
Then we continue to Ouarzazate known as ”The Gate of Desert”, where we will see the Taourirt Kasbah, one of the most spectacular ksars in Morocco. The next destination will be the Rose Valley going through the big Skoura palm grove, a beautiful place to contemplate countless palms and several Kasbahs built in the surrounding area. We will pass by Dades and Tinghir where will have free time for lunch.
Then we continue our way to the desert via Tinejdad and Touroug to reach the stunning dunes of Merzouga where we will experience Camel Trekking through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi with a break to watch the majestic sunset over the dunes, If you are interested in sandboarding, try it out and enjoy the beautiful landscapes until the sun goes down.
Later, we will continue to the Berber Camp, where you will be greeted with a glass of mint tea and relax till dinner time, After that, you will enjoy the traditional Berber drumming music around the fire, admire a beautiful starry sky, and then sleep in nomadic Berber tent.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert, Draa Valley, Marrakech ( 560 KM)
As you are already in the desert, waking up early is highly recommended to watch the best sunrise you have ever seen at the top of a dune near the camp.
After these fantastic moments, you will have a delicious local breakfast and take a shower at the camp. After that, you can come back by camel, or we can transfer you by our 4WD back to the original meeting location, where you will meet your driver.
We will start our journey back to Marrakech on a different road, where you will see Acacia trees, typical of this landscape. On the way to the Draa Valley, we will make some stops to enjoy the beautiful views of the longest river in Morocco.
Our Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour continues toward Ouarzazate, going through the Anti-Atlas. We will have free time for lunch in the city. After that, we will see the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
